MUSÉE HISTORIQUE DE OUIDAH
Ancien fort portugais, lieu de transit des esclaves africains, la forteresse de Ouidah est aujourd’hui reconvertie en musée. Vous pourrez vous familiariser avec l’histoire du Dahomey et des traditions vodous, mais aussi avec celle moins faste de l’esclavagisme.
Le musée regroupe d’importantes collections (généralement temporaires) d’objets retrouvés lors de fouilles archéologiques, essentiellement dans la région de Ouidah. Les collections permanentes sont organisées par thèmes : le commerce négrier, les traditions religieuses locales, les liens culturels entre le Bénin et le Nouveau Monde ou encore la création du Dahomey.
